The short answer

Plan five looks from what you already own, and only buy one standout piece. Sneakers will carry you through most of the week.

Fest week is long, sweaty and full of photos. You’ll be on your feet all day, so comfort comes first. Here is a simple plan that works with most theme days.

Day 1: easy opening day

A clean white T-shirt, good jeans and an overshirt. It looks put together, and you can take the shirt off when the afternoon heats up.

Day 2: ethnic day

Kurta with sneakers is the safe winner. Add some oxidised jewellery or a printed stole if you want more. It looks intentional and you can still run between events.

Day 3: colour or theme day

Check the theme early. Borrow one bright item instead of buying a full outfit. A coloured shirt or dupatta will do the job.

Day 4: pro night

Go darker, wear shoes you can stand in for hours, and pick a small crossbody bag so your hands stay free in the crowd.

Day 5: last day

Your favourite outfit of the week. You’ll be tired, so go with what feels great.

Pack a fest bag

Carry a power bank, tissues, water and a safety pin. You'll be the most popular person in your group by Day 3.

Quick questions

What shoes work best?

Broken-in sneakers. Save new shoes for after the fest.

How do I stop repeating outfits?

Swap one layer. The same jeans with a different shirt and jacket reads like a new look.
